The University of New Hampshire Technology Transfer Center is now offering three retroreflectometers on loan for New Hampshire Municipal Public Works Departments.

Due to the MUTCD revisions for 2009, the sign retroreflectivity in some NH municipalities may not be up to standard. The retroreflectometers on loan will allow municipal highway department staff to measure the retroreflectivity of their current road signs. Sign up for the loan program now!

Meter Loan Registration
 

The fee for the equipment loan is $25, and municipalities may keep the retroreflectometer for up to six weeks. *Additional time may be requested.

Equipment Loan Agreement Contract

UNH T² agrees to temporarily loan the recipient institution one Impulse RM retroreflectometer which includes: Impulse RM unit, soft carrying case, 2 AA batteries, and instructional manual.

The Recipient Institution agrees to:

• Keep the retroreflectometer in a secure locked location at all times when not in use.

• Reimburse UNH T² $5,000.00 if the retroreflectometer is stolen when not in a locked location.

• Provides UNH T² with proof of forced entry if the machine sustains obvious physical damage while in my possession.

• Reimburse UNH T² the cost of replacing any accessories if there is any missing when the equipment is returned.

• Reimburse UNH T² the cost of replacing any accessories if there are any missing when the equipment is returned.

• Return the equipment in-person (to a T² staff member) when I am done using it.

Retroreflectometer Specifications
 

The benefits of renting a retroreflectometer include:

• The retroreflectometer can be used for Sign Inventory and Management, GPS Offset Mapping, GIS Data Collection, and Traffic Engineering, and Safety Asset Management

• Measures retroreflectivity from distances of 24 to 37 meters away from the sign

• Intelligent, on-board computer calculates slope distances that can be displayed in feet or meters

• Audio and visual indicators assure positive target acquisition

• RS232 serial port allows you to store data externally: data is transferred automatically or by manual key press.
