Contact the Best Practices Committee | Training Committee (Public Works Academy)Mission: To develop and maintain a voluntary standard of training for all aspects of the public works profession. Goals, objectives and general philosophy: The goal of the New Hampshire Public Works Academy (hereinafter referred to as the Academy) is to provide job-related educational and training services to those currently employed in, or planning to pursue a career in, the broadly defined field of public works. This may include highway, water, wastewater, solid waste, environmental, or any of the other operations that are considered to be "public works." The Academy exists because of the cooperative efforts of a coalition of groups who share a common interest in ensuring that public works operations in the State of New Hampshire are conducted effectively, efficiently, and safely by professionals in their chosen field. The coalition is important to the the short term, and likely the long term, success of the Academy as it ensures that no single interest group will be viewed as the sponsor, or overseer, of the programs offered by the Academy.
